Forgiveness and Consequences

Forgiveness and Consequences

By Dr. Charles Stanley editted by ehijoshua

The apostle Paul wrote, "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap" (Gal. 6:7). As familiar as we are with this cause-and-effect relationship, there is still some confusion about how it fits with the forgiveness of God.

After receiving divine mercy, some believers expect the Father to miraculously erase the cost of their sinful choices. When that doesn't happen, they may start to wonder, Did God really forgive me? Does He truly love me if I'm still suffering?

So the question in their mind is, Should Christians who have been forgiven by their Creator have to endure the results of their sin? The answer is, "Yes, sometimes." Forgiveness and consequences are not opposite ends of a spectrum. Together, they establish an essential part of the Lord's plan for believers.

Forgiveness is relational. The Father sent Jesus to make a sacrifice on our behalf, and by so doing reconciled us to Himself. By His mercy alone, we can have communion with the Lord.

On the other hand, consequences are circumstantial. The man who drank for many years and developed cirrhosis of the liver knows that his disease has a direct link to his alcohol abuse. The woman who had an affair realizes, deep in her heart, that her ruined marriage was a direct consequence of her sinful choice. The promiscuous person knows his sexually transmitted disease is a result of an immoral lifestyle. God does not often remove consequences like these simply because someone trusts Christ as Savior or confesses sin.

I could go into other illustrations, but perhaps the most compelling one comes from the cross itself. Christ made it clear that the thief dying with him was completely forgiven (Luke 23:39-43). Yet moments later, the man died an excruciating death. His sins had been erased in God's sight, but he suffered the punishment for his crime.

Consequences from sin are not an indication that a person isn't saved or that God is angry with the individual. The Lord frequently allows some painful situations to continue so He can teach us lessons we would otherwise never learn. For example, suffering caused by sin can lead us in quiet desperation to seek God's forgiveness. Very few things motivate us to give Him our undivided attention like being faced with the cost of our wrong choices. When we draw near to the Lord, He reveals how to respond correctly to painful circumstances. Unprecedented spiritual growth will often result.

And even painful consequences do not prevent us from rejoicing in the Lord's gifts of salvation and grace. We all have scars. Their purpose is not to cause us grief as a daily reminder of our sin, but rather to remind us of how gracious and merciful the Lord is. Praise God! He loves us and chooses to work though us despite our past mistakes and wrong choices. People who still bear scars from past sins often become the most effective at leading unbelievers to know Jesus as their Savior.

Our attitude toward negative consequences affects how we relate to our heavenly Father. A negative approach could lead us to become bitter, whereas a positive attitude could bring us to a point of understanding and gratitude for the daily reminders of divine mercy. We can view our scars as monuments to God's grace, or as ongoing punishment. I encourage you to see them as proof of your spiritual healing. If you do, I guarantee that you will change, even when circumstances stay the same. But in that case, your ability to trust God in difficult situations will take on new and exciting dimensions.

Rest assured, sinful decisions have consequences, if not in this life, then in the next. We are blessed, though, because the principle of reaping and sowing works in a positive way as well: "The one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life" (Gal. 6:8). We can sow good seeds that will turn negative situations into positive ones. For instance, I've known couples who started to make wise decisions after suffering the results of poor financial choices. Over time, they experienced the benefit of their right actions.

Don't spend the bulk of your time trying to convince God to remove painful consequences. Try praising Him instead. In His wisdom, the Lord allows these reminders to keep you away from further sin and its effects. As you humble yourself before Him, ask the Father to give you the ability and courage to walk away from sin and toward His almighty arms. Begin "sowing" to please the Spirit rather than your flesh. God may never change your circumstances, but He will renew your strength and change your life.

How To Tweak Your Phone IMEI & Get Etisalat Free 1.5GB Every Month

How To Tweak Your Phone IMEI & Get Etisalat Free 1.5GB Every Month

Hi lovely viewers and welcome to this lovely post. Changing the IMEI of Android devices is no more something new to each and every one of us. This post also relates to those articles of changing Android IMEI but the dimension will be different.

Do you know that Etisalat gives free 500MB for every new Infinix Zero device purchased and that free 500mb is valid for a month. The trick here is, we are going to make them think we're using a new Infinix Zero phone by changing our Android device IMEI Number to the new Infinix Zero IMEI which is usually 15 digits.

Below is the tutorial to tweak your phone IMEI to be entitled to this 500MB, regardless of the kind of Android Device you are using.
Steps Required to Get Etisalat Free 500MB and Above On Any Android Device

  1. Generate the IMEI
  2. Tweak your Phone IMEI
  3. Get your Free Megabytes
1. How To Generate IMEI Like New Infinix Zero IMEI

  • The first thing we need here is the first  8 digits of the Infinix Zero IMEI which is 35585906
  • Remains 7 digits, right? Out of the 7 digits, you can add any 6 digits you like e.g. 135790. This makes up 14 digits. E.g 135790 making it looks like this 35585906135790x
  • The last digit is crucial for the validity of your tweaked IMEI. You don't just put any digit. That last digit is called the check digit and it can be generated from a site.
  • To get the last digits, check out this link: http://www.nobbi.com/imeicheck.php
  • Enter the 14 digit IMEI in the space provided and click on Check, it will provide you with the last digit.
  • Whatever digit it displays is your last digit. So after all the story, my imei is 35585906135790x and x is the check digit. When I checked it using that link, my x turned out to be 1 so IMEI = 355859061357901
2. Tweak your Android Phone IMEI
Copy your generated IMEI and use it to tweak your MTK Android device or any other Android Phone that support changing IMEI.
Check any of the below links for your Phone compatible method of changing IMEI;
» Simple Method for Changing All MTK Android IMEI to BB IMEI
» Universal Method For Changing Any Android IMEI to BB IMEI + HTC Androids Special Method
» Easy Method To Root and Change Imei of The New Mtn Android Smartphones S620&S720i
» Change IMEI Number Through Terminal Emulator of Android Phone-Tab

To Get your Free 500MB
Once your IMEI has been successfully changed, Send MID to 8186 and 500MB will be given to you as it is shown in the screenshot below.
Note: You'll be receiving this 500MB every month for good 12months!

Am not through yet, still follow me anxiously.
Once you've received the free 500MB, you can do the below:
  • Look for Tecno P3 IMEI, Tecno R7 IMEI, Tecno F7 IMEI or Phantom Z IMEI, get the first 8digits of the IMEI and repeat the steps above for the Infinix Zero,
  • For Tecno F7 and R7 the first 8digits IMEI is 86115502 and for Nokia XL IMEI, the first 8digits is 35366506
  • Send DATA to 8186 and more MB will be given to you.
You have no reason to complain of any data zapping. Take your straw and suck MB from Etisalat Data base, Enjoy it while it last.

Airtel Free Megabytes, Get 200MB Without Paying A Dine

Airtel Free Megabytes, Get 200MB Without Paying A Dine

You will never believe until you give it a trial. The tweak was tested and working fine before posted, it doesn't require any Airtime, you can get it done with N0.0k balance, but it is working on some selected Airtel SIMs, not on all SIMs, so if you try it with a line and is not working, don't be panic, try to find another Airtel SIM to get it done. I have 3 different Airtel SIM, only one of them was lucky to received free 100MB and one of my closest friends received 200MB on each of his 2 Airtel SIM. Just follow the below steps to get it done on your Airtel SIM.

First of all, your Airtel SIM must  be on club 10 PAddi.
Dial *166# to migrate to club 10 PAddi.

After you have successfully migrated to club 10 PAddi,
Just dial *141*13*200# to receive free, 200MB or
Dial *141*13*100# to receive free 100MB

It is simple as that, enjoy it while it last.

Get Glo Bis 3GB of 1K and Enjoying Surfing with Your Android Phones and PC

Earlier last month, I made a post on how to use Glo Bis on Non Blackberry Devices, but unfortunately only few people were benefited while it wasted other people's money. There are two ways you can easily get this IMEI changing done which are Mobile Uncle and Terminal Emulator.

1. Your phone must be a Rooted Device

Can You Still Make Money on Clickbank?

Can You Still Make Money on Clickbank?

clickbank-logo
I typically trash Clickbank as a low-quality trash bin for discount digital products worth very little money, and even less of your time. But the website is still alive and well, and as we see with products like Google Sniper 2.0 and Freedom Formula 8, people are still touting it as a great place to find things to promote for your online business. I decided to investigate further to see if it’s actually possible to make honest money on Clickbank.
Here are the questions I hope to answer:
1) Are there any quality products on Clickbank worth promoting?
2) How much money can you make by promoting stuff from the CB marketplace?
3) How to find high converting, high paying items with low return rates
4) What does the future of Clickbank look like?
Bonus: An inside look into my Clickbank earnings

1) Are there any quality products on Clickbank worth promoting?

Yes, but you really need to dig. And I mean really dig deep. There is a lot of crap on Clickbank. In fact, lots of it is from several years ago, and there’s no way to really tell when the product released, unless you look at the gravity of the product. Remember, “gravity” is a number that represents how many affiliates have made commissions lately. It’s not a 1/1 ratio (they don’t give the exact math), but the higher the better. I’ve seen high gravity being 50+ and low gravity as low as less than 10.
How do you tell the good products from the bad? This is a matter of judgement, taste, and personal bias, but here are a few pointers.
  • Up front and honest sales pitch
  • Short and to-the-point product description
  • Informative with little or no hype
  • Up to date information
Here are some examples of good and bad products I found in various niches.

Bad Products

bad product 1
Bad product 3
OK, I’ll admit that this is a popular game and probably made money back in the day. But stuff like this is short lived and highly competitive.
bad product 4
Plenty of products look legit, but are total BS. Do your homework!

Good Products

good product 1
good product 2
I’ll admit, this sales page has a lame design. But it’s got a “home made” feel to it, so the issue just might be that the owner is a cake maker, not a web designer. Worth investigating!

2) How much money can you make by promoting stuff from the CB marketplace?

This is the question that gets asked the most, but it’s the one with really no answer. It depends on a lot of variables, so you can make anything from zero to tens of thousands of dollars per month. For me personally, I don’t make that much from Clickbank, and never have. I take in about $100 per month. It isn’t impressive, but I’ll explain more about my stats below.
Other people swear by CB, and a lot of “how to make money” products are based solely on using Clickbank. To them, Clickbank is the foundation of their business despite the fact that there are thousands of other affiliate programs out there. Also, keep in mind that many of these guys don’t even look at what’s offered! They only care about
  • What the sales page looks like
  • How the offer is converting
  • What competition is like
  • How much money they make per sale
Notice that “customer satisfaction” isn’t a top priority.

3) How to find high converting, high paying items with low return rates

You can find this information right on the little blurb about each product.
  • Initial $/sale: How much money you make for each sale
  • Avg %/sale: The percent commission you make of total cost
  • Avg Rebill Total: If there is a recurring payment, the average total of all rebilled commissions
  • Avg %/rebill: If there is a recurring payment, the percent commission you make
  • Grav: How many affiliates have made commissions in the last 12 days
A high commission, recurring payments, and a high gravity is what you want to look for. Be sure to watch out for that gravity! I found more that one product with HUGE commissions and rebills, but a super low gravity. It was several years old and obviously no longer popular.
low gravity
High dollar amount per sale, but very low gravity. This product probably isn’t relevant anymore (WoW = World of Warcraft, a popular game a few years ago)

bad products 2
Low gravity and low commissions? Stay far away from these!

This will also depend on your niche of course, and your particular audience. You are the expert, so think about what your audience wants, and find a product to match them. Here is a a popular product that can be used for many niches.
good product 3
The perfect combination! High commission %, High dollar amount per sale, recurring commissions, and a high gravity. Start investigating NOW! (your work isn’t done)

Your Work Isn’t Done Yet!

Even with all these combined factors, you still need to know if this product is worth promoting. You need to investigate a few things.
  • General competition in this niche
  • Competition from other affiliate marketers in this niche
  • Other people promoting this specific product
  • Keyword stats
  • The product itself (is it good)
Very often you’ll find fake reviews from other affiliates that make a product sound awesome, but it will probably be clear that they never tried it. Look for normal folks that may have bought it and mention it on their blog, YouTube, or in a forum.
There are many factors that can influence your success in a specific niche, with a specific product. There are a lot of smart marketers out there, and just going by these simple metrics, you’re going to run into at least SOME competition.
Don’t be afraid of it, but learn to assess it correctly. If most people are using EMDs, don’t use one. If most people have tiny websites with crappy content, put in the extra effort and blow them out of the water. If there’s a lot of negative reviews from people, avoid it even if the payout looks good.

Updated Video

I know that reading all that stuff above can be a lot of information to take in, so I’ve made a short video about how to choose a good product from Clickbank to start promoting. Using CB can be a great introduction to affiliate marketing, if you do it right!

Start Your Affiliate Marketing Training Course Here

4) What does the future of Clickbank look like?

I think Clickbank is going to be around for a while. Digital information products, membership sites, PDF guides and other information that can be bought and sold on the internet is only going to grow. I give CB a hard time because I work in the internet marketing industry so I see horribly hyped and misleading products all the time, but there were a few goodies I found in my research for this article. I’m not recommending you promote these, but I just thought that they looked like high-value products for the right niche audience.
There are other marketplaces out there, but they are in a lot worse shape that CB. Clicksure and JVZoo are two examples of sites where I would not recommend promoting anything from their marketplace.

Conclusion

Yes, you can still make money on Clickbank, but you need to choose your products carefully.

Bonus: An inside look into my Clickbank earnings

Don’t laugh, but below I’ll show you my Clickbank earnings from a few weeks in 2013. When I started out in affiliate marketing, I did a bit better, pulling in about $600 for half of 2011 (my first year at CB), and $1500 for the year 2012. 2013 looks like it’s going to be less than $1200 for the year.
clickbank sales 1
Certainly NOT a million dollar account!
I started promoting these products in 2010/2011 when I was still a newbie. I don’t work on these sites any more, but they are still making me money two years later. I learned a lot since then, and I definitely would NOT choose the same products again! But I do absolutely zero work on these websites except to update them, which means I make about $1200 per hour promoting Clickbank products!
clickbank sales 2
Don’t take that as a green light to rush over to CB. Though you can still make money on Clickbank as I have demonstrated here today, it’s not any easier than any other affiliate marketing setup. There’s a lot of useless stuff on that site, and if you’re not sure what to promote, it can be hard to find exactly what you want. A beginner is better off choosing a niche based on their personal interests and building a niche website to fit those interests.
In fact, if you are looking for something to promote, I recommend you take a look at the best affiliate program I have ever participated in. 50% payouts, up to $175 per sale, recurring commissions, and you even get specialized training on how to set up your website for awesome conversions. You also get direct contact with your affiliate manager, access to other affiliates in the same niche that want to HELP you (not compete), and there are other awesome features like custom signup pages and apps to use on your website.

What Now?

I know my Clickbank earnings were pretty poor, but I actually make a full time income promoting other affiliate programs. I just found that most of what was on CB wasn’t my style, and there was too much junk to sort through. Don’t be limited by what you find in their marketplace.
There are literally thousands of other affiliate programs out there with physical and/or digital products for you to promote. CB is just one affiliate network, and has a very limited number of things to promote.
I started out as a newbie in 2010, and quit my job in 2012. Now I spend my days helping other people on their own businesses. If you want to start a new online business or have an existing one you need help with, you can get 1-on-1 support from ME! All you need to do is join the same online business training center where I learned to build my first business.

The Best Credit Monitoring Service for 2014

The Best Credit Monitoring Service for 2014

With identity theft on the rise, now is the time to find the best credit monitoring service so you can protect yourself before it happens. According to the most recent "Victims of Identity Theft" report published by the Bureau of Justice in 2013, approximately 16.6 million persons (7% of all U.S. residents age 16 or older) were victims of one or more incidents of identity theft in 2012.

If you don't think that's very much, consider that losses from ID theft were $24.7 billion. That's $10 billion more than all other property theft combined.

With ID theft on the rise, and sparked by a recent ID theft scare experienced by a close family member, I conducted some serious research on the best credit monitoring services available today. My focus was mainly on comprehensive credit monitoring with ID theft protection, but I also found some great options that work well for low-cost credit report monitoring.

The Best Credit Monitoring Service

IDENTITY-GUARD-Total-Protection
My research led me to choose Identity Guard as the best credit monitoring service because it is a comprehensive program that monitors changes in your credit score and provides some of the best ID theft protection in the industry.

Identity Guard has many different package options to fit any budget. Any plan you choose comes with:

  • Social Security number monitoring
  • ID theft victim's assistance
  • Lost-wallet protection
  • $1 million ID theft insurance

In case Identity Guard is not for you, several other strong companies worth looking into emerged from my research.

Here is my full list of the 5 best credit monitoring services:

  1. Identity Guard
  2. LifeLock
  3. Identity Force
  4. Experian
  5. TransUnion

What exactly does credit monitoring entail?

There are two main reasons you'll want to use a credit monitoring service:

  1. You're concerned about identity theft and want to protect against it.
  2. You need to improve or repair your credit score, but you're not as concerned about ID theft protection.

Credit monitoring tracks your credit reports and notifies you of any significant changes. Since all things financial flow to your credit report, including loans, credit cards, and payment histories, your credit report is a major factor that financial companies use to extend you any type of loan.

Many times, people are unaware of derogatory reports that show up on their credit report until they actually apply for a loan — when it's already too late. Knowing what's in your credit report is extremely important for this reason. Derogatory reports like a delinquency from a creditor can affect your credit score for years. You'll also want to know your score prior to applying for any credit cards so you know you'll be accepted.

The other important way people use credit monitoring services is to prevent identity theft. Any financial account that is opened in your name with your Social Security number will show up on this report. Identity thieves prey on unsuspecting people by taking information about them and using it to use or open new financial accounts in the unsuspecting person's name. Credit monitoring services notify you any time a new account is opened so you can respond quickly.

There are a number of steps you can take to better protect yourself, but having your credit monitored by a professional team can give you the greatest edge by letting you know — in near real time — what is affecting your credit.

What are identity thieves looking for?

In a USA Today article, Phoenix-based cybersecurity expert Mark Pribish says identity thieves look for specific pieces of information.

Here is what identity thieves look for:

  • User names, passwords, and PIN numbers
  • Social Security numbers
  • Phone and utility account numbers
  • Bank and credit account numbers
  • Employment and student identification numbers
  • Driver's license and passport numbers
  • Professional license numbers
  • Insurance identification numbers
  • College or university financial-aid form information

For most ID theft victims, having new accounts opened in their names is not the main issue, so credit report monitoring alone isn't adequate. The big problem is that ID thieves use the above information to gain access to and control current bank, credit card, loan, and other accounts, which is where more proactive measures come in handy.

According the Bureau of Justice, for 85% of identity theft victims, the most recent incident involved the unauthorized use of an existing account.

This key statistic has great ramifications for determining which of the best credit monitoring service features have the most impact when it comes to combating ID theft.

How can the best credit monitoring services protect my existing accounts?

Simply monitoring a credit report only shows you when a new account has been opened, but doesn't show you when your credit card has been used by someone else nor when your bank account has been accessed.

The best credit monitoring services that make this list protect your open accounts with:

  • ID verification alerts
  • Account takeover alerts
  • Lost-wallet protection
  • ID theft victim assistance

The Most Comprehensive Credit Monitoring Services

The first three products listed below will be able to provide full credit monitoring services, identity theft protection, and access to credit reports. If you're looking for the most comprehensive services to stay protected, these are your best options.

Identity Guard

For comprehensive monitoring, including proactive identity theft protection, Identity Guard is your clear choice.

They monitor all three major credit bureaus for changes to your reports, helping you make more informed financial decisions. On top of this, they monitor personal information like your name and Social Security number across thousands of databases.

ID verification alerts and account takeover alerts proactively notify you every time your online account information has been accessed or changed. This way, you can quickly take action if the accounts were accessed fraudulently. These services are included in the same plans as their credit monitoring service so you just pay a single monthly fee for both.

If you happen to become a victim of ID theft, Identity Guard has the services to get you back on your feet fast. A victim hotline gives you access to a trained expert who helps you through your stressful situation. Lost-wallet protection gets your credit cards cancelled and replaced fast, and $1 million in ID theft insurance covers all of your losses due to ID theft.

  • Social Security Number Monitoring
  • ID Verification Alerts
  • Account Takeover Alerts
  • Identity Theft Victim Assistance
  • Lost-Wallet Protection
  • $1 Million Identity Theft Insurance

LifeLock® monitors thousands of black-market websites where ID thieves buy and sell stolen information. If your personal information shows up there, you are alerted. They also work with the credit bureaus to reduce the number of annoying preapproved credit card offers by taking your name off mailing lists.

With LifeLock® Junior, you can also protect your child's identity, which makes LifeLock perfect for families. If you're less concerned with ID theft protection, credit monitoring services from one of the main credit reporting bureaus is a great place to start.

These options can be more affordable and have flat fees for one-time access to your credit report if you just want to know where you stand before applying for a loan. Here are the top two options:

Experian

Experian makes the list of the best credit monitoring services by offering triple-bureau credit monitoring with a variety of options for one-time access to your credit report. You can purchase your Experian credit report for $14.95 or get all three credit bureau reports for $39.95. This feature is great if you just need to check in on your credit score once in a while.

For more active monitoring, select the Experian Credit Tracker. For $4.95 per month, you get your Experian credit score and credit report, plus triple-bureau credit monitoring and dedicated fraud resolution support.

Experian does have some ID protection features, but they fall short of the more comprehensive services like Identity Guard. The Experian ProtectMyID® service takes the Experian Credit Tracker features and adds daily Internet ID scanning to look for your personal information that may be publicly available on the Internet.

Finally, Experian also offers credit reports and credit monitoring for your small business. This is a rare service only offered by the major credit bureaus.

Highlights:

  • 3-Bureau Credit Report Monitoring
  • Credit Report Change Alerts
  • One-Time Access to Credit Report
  • Dedicated Fraud Resolution Support
  • Lost-Wallet Protection
  • ID Theft Insurance

TransUnion

Like Experian, TransUnion is another credit reporting bureau that provides some of the best credit monitoring services. As a member, you have access to triple-bureau credit monitoring alerts, so you will be notified of any suspicious activity. TransUnion used to only monitor their own report. This flaw kept them from being one of the best credit monitoring services in the past.

If you're looking to get one-time access to your credit report, you can receive your TransUnion score for free and credit report for just $1 by signing up for a free seven-day trial. Cancel at any time during the seven days and you won't be charged the $17.95 membership fee. You also have the option to purchase your triple-bureau credit report for $39.95 without ongoing membership.

You can add some ID theft protection by signing up for True Identity. This service monitors many of the same public records as other services and alerts you if your information shows up there.

If you believe you've been a victim of identity fraud, the security freeze feature prevents lenders from accessing your TransUnion credit report entirely. This makes it less likely that a lender will extend credit to someone posing as you. Tools like these offer you peace of mind since they allow you a greater level of control over your account.

Highlights:

  • 3-Bureau Credit Report Monitoring
  • Credit Report Change Alerts
  • One-Time Access to Credit Report
  • Identity Restoration Services
  • Lost-Wallet Protection
  • ID Theft Insurance
  • Security Freeze

Choosing the Best Credit Monitoring Services

Here's an outline of how I got to my final choices:

  1. Conducted research to find a list of all services
  2. Removed companies that did not belong on the list because they feed business to other companies
  3. Segmented the remaining companies based on their features
  4. Analyzed features deeper to select a top product

For a more detailed look into my process for selecting these services, continue reading below.

I started my research by compiling a comprehensive list of credit monitoring services from multiple Internet sources. I found 20 companies to investigate further.

As I dug deeper, I found that several companies on my list were actually lead-generation sites for other companies on the list. Two examples are FreeCreditReport.com and FreeCreditScore.com, both owned by Experian. I instantly eliminated these companies and don't recommend them.

The next step was segmentation. I found that while all the companies on the list provided some form of credit monitoring, some focused more on detecting and preventing ID theft while others were more focused on tracking your credit score and report to provide you with valuable information when applying for credit.

So, I segmented companies into two categories:

  1. Comprehensive: for those that provided a set of credit monitoring services with a heavier emphasis on ID theft prevention.
  2. Credit Reporting Bureaus: these companies are more focused on monitoring your credit changes and less on ID theft.

Once I had two buckets to place the services, I focused more on features. For the Comprehensive category, I focused on features that could protect existing accounts because, for over 85% of identity theft victims the most recent incident involved the unauthorized use of an existing account.

The must-have features for this category include:

  • ID verification alerts
  • Account takeover alerts
  • Lost-wallet protection
  • ID theft victim assistance

For the Credit Reporting Bureau category, there are really only three options to choose from: Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax.

In this category, the distinguishing features that made Experian and TransUnion the best are:

  • Ease of monitoring credit reports from all three bureaus
  • The alerting functions for changes to each report
  • Best options for one-time access to your credit score and credit report
  • Ability to add certain ID theft protection features

Making the Final Decision

Looking at everything that credit monitoring encompasses, I determined that Identity Guard was the best credit monitoring service.

IDENTITY-GUARD-Total-Protection

Hands down, it has the most comprehensive features for not only monitoring changes in your credit report, but also for proactively combating the risks factors that make your identity vulnerable.

50 Side Businesses You Can Start On Your Own

50 Side Businesses You Can Start On Your Own

By Trent

In the past, I've discussed how it's a good idea to spend your spare time dabbling in entrepreneurship: it fills your time with something that you choose (and thus you enjoy) and sets up a potential long-term revenue stream. I also discussed how I got a side business going myself.

Since then, lots of readers have written to me, asking for ideas on how to start a simple side business. What follows is a list of 50 of those ideas that I've collected over the last year or so.

Each of these ideas is very simple to start, and most can be done as a sole proprietorship at first (meaning you don't have to file any legal documents to get started, though you will want to do that if it starts to take off). Most of these can be done at home in your spare time in your spare space, too.

See if there are any ideas below that fit you well. If you find an idea, seek out a guide on how to get started in that area.

50 Business Ideas

1. Antique refurbishment

This is a perfect side business for people who love antiquing. Take worn-out antiques home with you, invest the time and care needed to transform those old items into something amazing, then resell them at a profit.

2. Auto detailing

Have a meticulous eye for detail and love to get things gleaming clean? Auto detailing is probably a perfect side business for you. In essence, your job is to make cars sparkle inside and out – and many people are quite happy to pay well for this service.

3. Babysitting

Got lots of evenings free? Like kids? Babysitting may be a great side business for you. Keep an eye on multiple children on Friday and Saturday nights and you can earn some solid income.

4. Bed and breakfast

Have some extra space in your home? Turn that extra bedroom into a "bed and breakfast" room. This works particularly well if you have a somewhat older home or live near an area that attracts regular travelers and tourists.

5. Blogging

If you enjoy writing, find a topic you're passionate about and start a blog on the topic. All you need is a computer, some time, and some energy to consistently write. It can start as a hobby and turn into a business.

6. Cake decorating

Enjoy baking and have a bit of an artistic touch? Learn how to decorate cakes and make them for special events. One of my mother's old friends does this and makes quite a bit of money on the side.

7. Candle making

Candle making is a great little craft to learn. You can often easily sell the candles at local shops and also through websites like Etsy.com, eBay and more.

8. Candy making

Homemade candies are easier to make than you think and quite popular. Package them in nice little boxes and sell them through a local gift shop. You can get started pretty quickly.

9. Card making

This is another artistic "crafty" angle you can follow. Make greeting/birthday cards from scratch using your own photographs, some blank cards, and a healthy dose of artistic flair. Again, you can sell items like these through a local gift shop or at sites like etsy.com.

10. Catering

If you love to cook, take the "Blondie" route and start a home catering business. Catering is a business that's perfectly designed to reward those who plan well and can often fit perfectly into weekends, lining up wonderfully opposite a normal workweek.

11. Childcare service

Many states allow people to start up in-home daycares with minimal licensing and paperwork. If you love children and have plenty of time and space at home, this is a perfect business to get into.

12. Cleaning services for businesses

Many businesses and civic institutions have a need for individuals who will provide cleaning services at a low cost outside of business hours. This is a great side business for those who can put in a few hours late at night or on weekends.

13. Collectible trading

If there's a particular type of collectible that you know a great deal about, you can often make good money as a collectible trader, utilizing tools like eBay and opportunities to find those collectibles in the community. I had some success with this myself with both trading cards and video games in the past.

14. Computer troubleshooting

I had some success with this in the past, though I've largely moved away from it now. If you have a knack for fixing computers, this is a good place to start.

15. Consignment buyer

Consignment shops and consignment auctions are often loaded with good deals if you know how to identify them – quite often, you can turn these good deals around and make a nice profit elsewhere. Get started by visiting some consignment shops and critically evaluating the prices on the items there.

16. Cookie making

Much like candy making, homemade cookies can be a great seller. Bake the cookies, package them well, and resell them through a local gift shop. Often, you can find people in your social network who will buy batches from you for special occasions.

17. Dinner preparer

I recently met a woman who earned quite a bit of money as a very part-time chef. Once a week, she would go to someone's house and prepare a homemade meal for their family, then do all the dishes and cleanup work. This gives the family plenty of together time, while earning the lady some cash in the pocket. If you love to cook, this can be a great opportunity, but you may have to put a lot of work into searching for clients.

18. Event coordinator

Events like family reunions and large parties are often full of busywork that many people simply don't want to tackle. That can be the perfect place for you to step in and take charge of the planning and coordination.

19. Event DJing

Are you an audiophile? If you have a great sound system and a large selection of music, you've already got what you need to hire yourself out as a DJ for various events and receptions. This is a great way to fill an afternoon and evening while also earning some cash in the process.

20. Exercise teacher

Many gymnasiums will trade membership and often a bit more for a person willing and able to teach an exercise class. You can also find people who do not want to go to the gym that you can train from home as a personal trainer. If you're in good shape, this is a great opportunity to earn some extra money, plus it can often lead to additional income with one-on-one teaching opportunities.

21. Furniture making

If you're adept at woodworking and have just a bit of basic equipment, it's easy to get into business making deck furniture. It only requires a few items – a saw, a drill, a sander – and some creativity and passion for working with wood. If you have the tools or just want to turn your hobby into a business this may be a great small business idea for you.

22. Gardening services

I've actually had requests from others for people willing to do this, so the demand is out there. To put it simply, some people are willing to pay others to get a vegetable or flower garden started for them in their yard so they can have access to ultra-fresh produce without all the legwork.

23. Handy man services

Skilled at basic home repair? Let people know that they can call you for little repair jobs, like basic plumbing and other things. You'd be amazed at the simple things people are willing to pay others to help them with.

24. Housecleaning

Many people simply don't enjoy cleaning their homes and are willing to pay a reasonable price to have someone do the work for them. This is a great way to earn extra money in a flexible way, particularly if you have time off during the workweek. Still, you want to be professional and treat it as a business.

25. Interior decorating<

Fascinated by interior design? Have a huge collection of interior design materials around? Many people are quite happy to hire individuals to help them decorate their home – I know, for one, that I have no eye for this type of thing.

26. Jewelry making

If you have a good eye for detail work and a lot of patience, homemade jewelry can be quite profitable. As with other items on this list, there are many opportunities to sell such items through local gift shops or at sites like Etsy.

27. Knitting / crocheting / quilting

Skilled at creating blankets and sweaters? There's a huge market for these types of items – even better, you can usually make them in your spare time whenever you have it. As always, local shops and places like etsy are great places to go to sell such items.

28. Landscaping services

Willing to mow lawns and trim bushes and trees? Many people are quite happy to pay for such services. Not only is this a great side business for a fit adult, it's also a great way for a teenager to get a small business started.

29. Meal-to-go preparations

Remember my earlier post about breakfast burritos? Making meals in advance is a great way to save money for yourself – but you can often prepare these for others as well and sell them for a markup. Prepare eight casseroles, for example, then sell six of them to cover your costs, and you've got two free dinners for your family (and maybe a bit more). You can grow this by taking orders from others and finding out what they like.

30. Online media consultant

Like participating on messageboards, Facebook, Twitter, and so on? Become an online media consultant and help people promote things. Start small – help local businesses get a presence on Facebook and set them up with Twitter. From there, you can grow to whatever works for you.

31. Pet grooming

Many people loathe bathing their pets and trimming their hair – I know I do. Pet groomers perform these tasks for a small fee – a perfect job for a person who loves dogs and cats.

32. Pet sitting

When people go on trips, they're often concerned as to what will happen with their pets. That's where you step in – offer yourself as a safe place to leave their pets, or be willing to go to their home to take care of their pets. It may even go hand in hand with your pet grooming business.

33. Pet walking

Many busy people leave their pets home all day, but realize that those pets really could use a vigorous walk (and an opportunity to relieve themselves) during the day. Pet walking is a great opportunity for exercise, fresh air, and some pocket money if you have free time during each day.

34. Pet yard waste cleanup

For many people in suburban areas, cleaning up pet yard waste is a real hassle – it's disgusting, for one. Instead of cleaning it up themselves, they might hire someone to do it regularly, two to three times a week. There are several such services in our area, actually.

35. Produce selling

Like to grow vegetables? Focus in on one vegetable and sell the excess to grocery stores and at farmers' markets. My father does this with tomatoes and earns some solid extra money during the summer months. You can do really well, though, if you can grow things inside during the winter – February fresh tomatoes can sell quite well.

36. Proofreading

Have strong English skills and exceptional grammar? You may have opportunities to work as a proofreader from home. Advertising for this can be difficult – seek out those who might actually be able to use your services and advertise directly to them.

37. Public speaking

If you're the type of person who can get the attention of a room easily, public speaking might be for you. Take advantage of every public speaking opportunity you can and you'll be surprised at the opportunities that make themselves available for you.

38. Scrapbook making

Many people dream of having beautiful scrapbooks. They collect all the materials they want in the scrapbooks but never follow through on the actual creation. You can step in here – take their ideas and materials and assemble a scrapbook for them.

39. Senior citizen assistance

Many elderly people need assistance with a wide variety of simple household tasks – cleaning, laundry, and so forth. Many children of elderly people are quite willing to hire someone to help out their parents.

40. Sewing and alterations

My wife is quite handy with a sewing machine and often hems and modifies our children's clothes. She could easily take this a step further and offer her services to others, doing basic garment repair and modification for a small price on lazy evenings.

41. Social media

Almost everyone uses Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. these days but did you know that many companies will pay people to help them manage their social media accounts, even part time from home. If you are a social media junky already then this may be a great way to start your own business that you enjoy, simply by playing around on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites all day. Check out PaidSocialMediaJobs.com for more information on how to get started with this type of business and find companies willing to pay for your services.

42. Soap making and Spa products

Making amazing homemade soaps and other spa products isn't as hard as you might think – it just takes time and patience. Again, items like these can easily be sold via local gift shops and through websites like Etsy.

43. Teaching music

If you know how to play an instrument (particularly the piano or the guitar) and have patience, you've got what you need to teach others how to play. Offer lessons in that instrument to others – this can also be an excellent thing to barter with, too.

44. Toy making

From simple things like sock monkeys to more elaborate things like handcrafted chess sets, many people are willing to pay good money for handcrafted toys that you can easily make at home in your spare time. Again, gift shops are the place to go with items like these.

45. Tutoring

Did you major in a particular topic in college? Do you have patience with children? You likely have what you need to tutor kids in particular subjects. Seek out parents and let them know that you tutor in a particular subject and provide materials for them to share and phone calls will often trickle in. You can get going locally or across the country online.

46. Video preparation services

Many people like to have videos made for special events, such as weddings, or for gifts. This may mean actually taking the video yourself at a special event, or it may mean simply assembling materials and creating a video from those items. Either way, with a well-equipped PC, some taste, and some patience, you can make quite sophisticated video productions at home.

47. Virtual assistant

Many ultra-busy professionals appreciate having someone who can check and answer their email, organize task lists for them, update their calendars, and so on, with minimal interaction. The best part is that you can provide this service from home with a good internet connection.

48. Web site design

Many small businesses in your community could use a very basic web presence to tell others about their business. Quite often, these businesses don't have a large budget for such things. That's where you come in – get a bunch of clients from the local community by beating the pavement, create sites for them, and maintain them for a small fee. Get enough businesses and you have a nice side business of your own that doesn't require a ton of maintenance time.

49. Wedding planner

If you're one of those people who can't help but flip through bridal magazines and think about various wedding arrangements in your daydreams, wedding planning might be the perfect thing for you. A great way to get started is to develop a website on the topic, get to know people online, and offer your services throughout the community.

50. Writing/Editing

If you enjoy writing then writing and editing content in your spare time for companies is a great way to earn extra cash. Many website owners and other businesses require content be written or edited for a wide range of topics and uses. Some will even pay you for simple blog posts or comments. This type of business requires no overhead or experience and you can earn a nice income if you can connect with the right companies willing to pay for your writing services. RealWritingJobs.com is a great place to start.

I'm betting the readers have many, many more ideas along these same lines.

8 Easy, Low-Cost Businesses Any College Student Can Start

8 Easy, Low-Cost Businesses Any College Student Can Start

College tuition is too expensive for unpaid internships. Get real-world experience and income from these startup ideas.
June 20, 2012

Let's face it: summer internships aren't the best route for all students. Some with an entrepreneurial side and a business-savvy mindset just need more—both in terms of real-life experience and dollars. For students who want a high return, low barrier to entry, freedom to be their own boss and something that will look great on an MBA application, here are nine low-cost starter businesses that college students can start.

Food cart. There are only three things you need to create a food cart: a cart/kiosk, a license to sell and food to cook. Sites like GigMasters.com offer food carts for rent across the U.S., or you could set up your own table. The key is to finding a good location such as near a college campus or shopping area. Permits range depending on the location. For instance, a permit in Philadelphia is $150, while a permit for New York City is $200. Hot dogs, baked goods and tacos sell well due to low-cost supplies and minimal labor.

Avon sales rep. If you're good with sales and you want to be your own boss without the added costs of starting your own business, being a sales rep for Avon is a good bet. With just $10, you're on the way to getting things started and unlike other direct sales companies, the starter kit is included in this fee. Set your own hours, a space for yourself in your house and run your business as you please.

SAT tutoring. No one is more qualified to tutor prospective college students on the SATs than a college student who did well on it. SAT prep books cost between $20 and $30. Set aside money for advertising in your local paper and put up your own ads in public places. Set your hourly rate at a reasonable price. TestMagic charges $85 per hour while others go as high as $200 per hour.

T-shirt company. Raymond Lei, creator of ooShirts, created his own custom T-shirt business while in college. If you've got a funny sense of humor or great design style, starting your own shirt company is a great venture. After you've drafted a few ideas, the next step is to find a printer. Depending on how many shirts you're printing, costs can run high, but as long as the demand is even higher, you'll continue to be profitable. Think about getting a stand at a local flea market or street festival to boost sales.

Moving service. All you need to begin your own moving services is a moving truck, a valid license and some brawny friends. U-Haul trucks typically between $20 to 40 per day (plus mileage) and most movers charge about $200 to $400 for a local move. Advertise your "man with a van" service on Craigslist and on public bulletin boards. Also use the Web by posting on Facebook and Foursquare, as well as asking friends or clients to review your business on Yelp. You can also find dollies, hand-trucks, blankets, and other moving supplies on Craigslist.

Childcare. Starting your own babysitting service can be easy, as long as you invest in the proper resources and become qualified. First, obtain a childcare license which can cost up to $100. You should be first aid and CPR trained, and these certificates cost about $50 (though some places, like the Red Cross, offer this for free). Advertise your service locally, or on trusted babysitter websites such as Sittercity.com and Care.com. Your best chance of success is by having a flexible schedule, such as availability on evenings and weekends. Parents will be especially impressed with students majoring in education, child psychology or art therapy.

Arts and crafts. If you're an artist, selling your work can be the perfect entrepreneurial venture for you. You can set up a profile on Etsy and sell your work there, as well as at arts and crafts festivals and school campuses. It might be helpful to have a website you can direct people to for photos of your work and contact information. Look at the most popular items on Etsy and at craft fairs, such as jewelry, hats, clothing and other objects. And to keep costs low, look for materials that can be repurposed (and possibly even donated by local businesses—"reclaimed" is hot these days).

Website design. Almost every small business wishes it had a better website. If you have skills and experience with HTML, WordPress, Flash or other site-building platforms (and some graphic design chops), you can freelance your work for a hefty profit. If you want a simple projects, logos can be sold for over $300 apiece. Create packages in which you offer bundled services, such as revamping a site and starting a blog for a flat fee. Build a portfolio of mock-up home pages and bring your iPad to prospect meetings to show it off.

Did you have an enterprise to raise money for college?

Review: Best and Affordable internet Data Plans To Go For In October 2014

Review: Best and Affordable internet Data Plans To Go For In October 2014

First and foremost,  Happy 54th Independence Anniversary! to all our Nigerian readers/viewers.
It has been a while I reviewed the best and affordable internet plans for all Smartphones/PC. Today, I'd brief you guys with the best and cheapest internet data plans which I hope they really nice for you to enjoy in this new Month.
Nothing is permanent in this life, note that the Airtel network provider has stopped their blackberry double your data bundle promos of 4GB which goes for N1,500 with 2months validity and 6GB of N3,000 with that 3month validity. We really enjoyed those plans as they work with all our devices. Hope they should reconsider us soon, but we still have to move forward towards with the rest best data plan for Smartphones/PC.
·
·         For Android Users
As for data consumption, we all know how Android mobile phones zap our data bundle with all impunity, but I once published a post on how to Manage Your Data Bundle and Optimize Your Battery, kindly view its details here. I advice you to go through the post to avoid draining of your battery and data bundle.
Glo Bis is one of my all-time best and the cheapest internet plan at the moments as it can codedly be tweaked to work with Android devices by merely tweaking your imei to BB plan. Glo bis is also giving you the opportunity to top your data up to 12GB to last you for 4months… Is this not unique? Not only that. The data usage doesn't even move at all; meaning that you won't be able to finish Glo data except you're one heavy internet user. That package is highly recommended for Android users and BB10 users. To Subscribe for Glo Bis, send Comonth to 777 and to check your data balance, dial *777*0#

Apart for Glo Bis, I also recommend Mtn Affordable Data Bundle through Trusted Third Party Agents (www.mdataplans.com.ng or www.emandataplan.com) for Android Users. MTN Night Plan specially for those who knows their way out after the bonus has been exhausted, dial *102# to subscribe.
A few months ago, Airtel introduced Android Internet Plans which I shared here; the prices seem to be extremely expensive. Why will I buy 2GB for N2,000? Though the 4GB of N1, 500 is no more working, but when I know I can get this same 2GB for N1, 500 and this so called Airtel Android plan are not even better Airtel Bis when we are talking of data zapping. You can still subscribe for Airtel Bis of 2GB on your Android device, but I did not recommend it ooo because it's still zaps data on Android devices, simply dial *440*16# to subscribe.

·         For iPhone/iPad and PC Users:
The above aforementioned recommended plans for Android users is also recommended for iPad/iPhone and PC users, excluding the Glo Bis, because it won't work on your device directly except through tethering.
We have not yet detected the surest method for changing IMEI of iOS devices to blackberry one, and changing your iPhone/iPad imei to blackberry imei can only make you use the Glo Bis on your iOS.
Airtel BIS plan is working fine on the iPhone/iPad and PC and its data deduction is very normal, so you can still subscribe to their 2GB.

For Blackberry Users
The best data plan to use is Glo Monthly Bis, which offers 3GB for just 1k. This plan is very nice, it's server is very fast and the plan counts like snail. Unlike Etisalat Bis Plan, it also offers 3GB for just 1k with same fast internet speed, but the stumbling block of the Etisalat Bis Plan is that, it's data counting is fast, might not last you a month regarding to your downloads, but that of the Glo Bis data bundle is more preferred and is highly recommended for BB10 users too. Simply dial *777*9# and you would be opt-in to the Glo Monthly Bis package.
·
·        Tips About Etisalat
Actually, I don't like writing reviews about Etisalat because they have one of the most tight networks in Nigeria. Their data plans are standstill and expensive; imagine subscribing for 500mb on Android with 2k. Thank God, they recently introduced new fair data plans that can be used for any device, for N1,000 you will get 1GB Data Bundle, but before you go for it, try to read it's more details here.
